Hi,
I want to buy an Altima Coupe 2.5S Automatic, basic model...What did you pay for your car or what would be considered a great deal for this car including everything, all the fees, taxes (out the door deal)....I appreciate your help.

On 6/30/08 bought my wife an '08 Altima 2.5S sedan w/ auto, conv. pkg, floor mats and splash guards for $500 over dealer invoice of $21,166 (MSRP was $22,990). No addt'l dealer added options or other BS on the invoice or sales agreement. I'll handle going to the Revenue Dept. for registration paperwork and paying the sales taxes myself. Out the door price inclusive of my $1,000 rebate (I took the 3.9% financing) was $20,666.
You could go the route of faxing multiple fleet managers for price quotes on the specific car you want and probably get a better price quote than $500 over invoice, but don't forget that a lot of dealerships will agree to sell you a car for what seems like a great price, only to have their Finance Dept. try and pressure you into paying for high profit items like Gap insurance, credit life insurance, extended warranty etc. during the paperwork phase of the purchase. The fact that our local dealer doesn't try and pull that kind of stuff after the deal is struck is worth a lot to me. The whole purchase process took about 2 hours.
Good luck.
