News from Motor Trend:
"...Volkswagen of America has released a recall in conjunction with the NHTSA of its 2008 Passat in both sedan and wagon versions, in addition to its just launched 2009 Tiguan SUV powered by the 2.0-liter FSI ULVEV II engine.
On the models in question, the Engine Control Module (ECM) reportedly could have trouble controlling engine RPMs at idle while the air conditioning is in use, resulting in a possible "engine surge."..."
"...As an incentive, VW is offering a complimentary wash and fuel fill-up if owners schedule their free inspection before August 30, 2008.
If owners have paid for an ECM replacement or inspection prior to the recall, reimbursement will be considered accordingly..."
