I was driving my brand new (3,000 miles) 2007 Chrysler Pacifica when it erupted into flames from under the hood. After an investigation, I found out that a cross-threaded power steering fitting that prevents proper sealing of the hydraulic system could be the root cause. Chrysler has not notified the other owners of the 2007 model. I was lucky to get out of the car in time. If I had my 3 kids with me (all in car seats), I don't think I could have gotten them all out in time! Please tell everyone you know about the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. There have now been 166 warranty claims and 25 complaints reporting smoke and fire breaking out.
