I just met with a twenty year old girl that makes over $30,000 a month!  No.  That's not a typo.  She is a member of an Indian Tribe and has never worked in her life, and never will.  

I'm not trying to be a racist or show prejudice, but wanted to know what everyone else's thought.

She gets this money from her tribes casino.  

Sound like a little too much or do you agree with it?

I would rather they get money from there own casinos then the us government... I dont think it sounds like too much they share partnership in a business just like anyone else in this great country they have the right to make as much money as they want.

You're right.  I guess I was a little shocked and not to mention a little jealous that she walked right into that money.  I'm over it now.  I guess it would be like someone turning 18 and getting paid from a big trust fund.

Last I heard, residents of Alaska (or maybe those born in Alaska) get a "bonus" check every year because of oil production. I've never checked even though I was born there.

Just remember that tribe casinos are located on reservations. I've travelled quite a few places in the US, and I've never seen a reservation that non-tribe-members would want to live on. Also, a good bit of that casino money comes from members of the tribe who spend a good portion of their time in the casinos.

No, I do not think it is fair. I mean, she could just as easily move off the rez if it is so bad. And, she wasn't one of the many indians that the government stole from, enslaved, or murdered. Her dead ancestors are the ones that deserve the money. I mean, according to my family, I should be 1/16 Cherokee or Choctaw(we don't know for sure), but I don't feel that I deserve anything for it. If that's true, my ancestors are the deserving ones.

That being said;
Am I jealous that she gets $30k/month(more than I make in a year BEFORE TAXES) for sitting on her rear when I have to go to work 40 hours a week and can't pay all my bills? Uhhh, YEAH!

Am I jealous that she can sit on her rear when I have to go to work and can't pay my bills but she can walk in a pay cash for a car and not have debt? YEAH!  

Wow...I could see how you could be a little upset that while you work so hard for your $, she just has her feet up. Does she plan to do more than just collect checks for the rest of her life?

We're saying its not fair because she's getting checks while we get nothing, but if the roles were reversed and we were getting the checks while she got nothing would we still say its unfair?  

Do u think its fair that the native americans were hunted down like dogs and killed, do u think its fair that the women and children were killed just because they looked different from a "white man" i dont think thats fair and honestly i think if she gets that money the so be it, its not anyone else business but her own...this gov. sure didnt do anything to help them except take their land,rape their women and then killed millions just because this gov. wanted land...yes i am native but im not full and i am proud of my heritage i happen to be cherokee/choctaw and irish but i dont get anything from the gov. i could but i choose not too...maybe she has children maybe theres not any real jobs where she lives..all everyone on her can think about is how unfair it is that she gets this money..so what get a job and quiet complaining about it..
