Hey Guys,

I have a 2006 Kia Rio5 and seem to be having problems with either my battery or electrical wiring.

I recently bought an IPOD charger and unit to play my tunes while driving (connects through outlet or cigarette lighter). The first night I left it connected and it seemed to have drained my battery.
This battery never charged properly again, and after taking it into the shop the mechanic advised me that a cell in the battery had died and to put a new battery in the car.

Following his advice I did. The problem now is that I have discharge coming out the top of the battery (at the connectors) and occaisonally my running lights stay on, even though the car is completely shut off.

Any idea what this may be? I know its tough to diagnose without seeing the vehicle, but any help from a tech would certainly be appreciated.
