I am waiting on my 4th replacement CD player from Volkswagen. Every one they give me is defective. Paint was chipping off my car when it was brand new. Windshield wiper blades went bad after 15000 miles. I just dropped it off at the dealer for the second time for sluggish idleing. They said it was the snow filter the first time. Well this time I looked at the snow filter and it's fine. So it's something else, and seems to be they can't figure it out.  NOBODY BUY A VOLKSWAGEN, THEY ARE PEICES OF JUNK. I've spent hours and hours on end waiting at the dealership for another defective CD player, they haven't yet offered any type of reparations. I get stiffed by the service rep. and put on the back burner all the time. I cannot believe a company can be so screwed up and not care about it's customers. I will never again buy a Volkswagen, and neither should you. There are all kinds of funny vibrations is the car when driving it, the molding around the side of the car is cheap and not put on properly. The battery case does not snap on properly. The seats are cheap and hard to adjust, easily stained, hard to clean. I could go on forever. This car is junk. And so is the company

basically you are getting what you paid for.  VW are the economy german cars.  Although it seems like yours might be a little worse off then most people I talk to, genrellay you have the same complaints, forgetting what you really bought is a little more elaborate econo box.

I have owned 2 VW a 2000 New Beetle and had it for 8 years. Never a problem with it. I just bought a Brand New 2007 New Beetle. The only they they warned me about was the CD player MP3 format disc has a habit of over heating and getting stuck in the player. They don't know why yet they are still working on that. I have a friend who bought a 1998 VW and he still has it no problems it has over 310,000 miles on it. I think you guys got lemmon cars.
