For about the same money ($20000) I can either get an older 4runner or a newer xterra. If i get the xterra with the offroad package, 4runner with the V6, i can't really tell the difference on paper. I'm going to use it for a big road trip from seattle down to Lake Tahoe to ski, then Yosemite and across to Vegas and to the east coast then back. I don't plan to go serious offroading all the time but I know I'd have to offroad a bit to get to some rock climbing destinations (I'm a climber). Knowing that I'd need some respectable offroad power once in a while and also will be skiing and therefore on snow a bit in the winter I have narrowed my choices down to these 2 SUVs. I'm 23 years old and would prefer a car that is easier to handle and feul economy matters to me.

Which one would be better for me? Which one would u choose if u were in your shoes?  

get an old toyota land cruiser, best off-road vehicle ever!
