1994 Mazda B2300 (Ford Ranger in disguise)

Driving along today, stopped at a light and the truck stalled. I could not get it started again, it turns over but doesn't sound like its firing, it just cranks.

I went and put in a gallon of gas just in case, but i also got a can of Starting Fluid, sprayed it into the intake, and nothing. It still just cranks, does not sound like its firing up at all.

I dont know that much, but it seems like its not getting spark? I dont know where to go from here. What do i check?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  

This is the 2.3 right? First of all you want to make sure if you are not getting spark or fuel. You can pick up a spark tester for just a few dollars at a local parts store. When you turn the key to run position do you hear the fuel pump ?

Im going to check for spark, and Im pretty sure its getting fuel. i do hear the fuel pump when I turn th key on.

The thing that makes me think its an ignition issue is that it doesnt even try to fire when I spray starting fluid into the intake.  

did you check the timing belt if the timing belt is good then check for

spark take the wire off have someone turn the motor put the wire on any

metal surface if you get spark then check the spark plugs
