Wondered if any other 08 Subaru owner have this problem.  I own a 08 Subaru Forester which I have had for four months now.  Mysterious dimpling is occurring on the hood.  I up to four now and they going inward.  My car is undercover,  there is no creasing or paint chipping involved just these pocket marked small dimples.   My new car looks old!   I don't live close to the dealer but will get it over to them sometime this month.  The first one occurred two days after I brought it home,  then the second one a couple weeks later,  then the third two months later and the latest just two weeks ago.  Everyday I look to see if another has popped up.  I suspect that since their is two metal bars reinforcing the hood (and two are just above those bars) that some sort of shifting is occurring.  The car has just over 2000 miles.   I got the LL Bean addition and am completely in love with this vehicle.  Getting 27-28 mpg so far and it's not broken in yet. AWD is wonderful in the rain in Florida.  This car makes me feel so safe and secure.  Would recommend the Forester to anyone looking for this type of car.  I have a feeling I will be getting brand new hood as this is either something unique to my car or something happened at the factory on assembly.
