My 15 year old car's hatchback door no longer stays open, but replacing those devices (gas spring? - sorry I do not know their exact name) would be expensive. Several years ago I bought a cheap plastic device which was made to be affixed to the rod of the gas spring which normally keeps the door open. You had to then manually flick it to be able to close the door. It broke a few months ago, I and I cannot find a similar device anywhere, and do not remember where I bought the previous one. I would be grateful for any advice as to where I can buy such a device (and what the name of it is). Thanking you.
