I am a college student and looking to buy a fleet car from my university. Fleet cars from our university are always well maintained and have a good reputation among us students. This specific car is 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 45900 miles. They ask for $5400 which is always $1000 less than Kbb private party values. Now here is the problem. I saw four repairs in the car history offered by the university (none listed on Carfax). The four repairs cost $2200, $1800, $500 and $800. The repaired parts include rear bumpers, front bumpers, fences, a door, wheel, and some suspension parts. It seems that they were all body work. I don’t have much experience with cars. So I am wondering if it is still OK to buy this car.
The thing is if I buy a used car from a dealer or a private owner, I might not even know if there were any repairs before.
I appreciate any advices.
