Here's a good one.  

I just bought a brand new 2008 Pontiac Vibe on 12/28/07 and I'm quite pleased with the deal and the overall experience.  I walked in and handed the salesman a slip of paper with my out-the-door offer and told him to let me know if we have a deal when I get back from the test drive.  Upon my return, he countered with what I thought was a very fair price.  I told him I could be flexible and we would have a deal if he could split the difference.  He went the the sales manager and in about a minute he was back to shake my hand.

MSRP on the sticker was $20,835. I bought the car for about $16,550 plus tax and fees. My out-the-door total price was an easily negotiated $17,750. I feel as if I did quite well and so far I really like the Vibe.

sweet deal! i got mine at the MSRP . but so far, the performance had been good that i didn't have to go and shop for auto parts as frequently as i did for my truck... i'd say even if i got it for a higher price (coz i suck at negotiation), I still got a great deal.
