there are so many differences that i don't even know.. as i don't do a lot of transmission swapping.. i was just trying to help with some info..
if the junk yard book says its not an interchange.. its probably NOT..

you can always try it.. see what happens.. its a LOT quicker to find an exact match.. than to try to work within the cryptic science of GM powertrain differences..
before installing the replacement transmission.. please invest in a transmission cooler flush can.. this is done with the old transmission out so you can get at the lines..
and you might want to also.. and i am not saying anything.. but changing the filter and fluid really makes a difference in the life of the first or second most expensive part in the truck..
one thing.. scan for codes.. before buying a transmission.. it could be an easy and cheep fix.. like a burned out pressure solenoid or a bad shift solenoid.. there are HUNDREDS of trouble codes that might stop a transmission from shifting..

the numbers on mine are 24207965 on the trans and 2420815-6 on tailpiece and the year 2000 blazer trans has 24208015-6 stamped on the tailshaft housing.none on trans the vin was Igncs13w6y2273089 these are only #s i got so far.will chck again.

passenger side... flat machined surface.. just above the pan gasket..
