D3 sold the fenders to a customer, who lives in Canada and wanted them shipped to a relatives PO Box in the US. When we spoke to this customer, we informed him that the fenders come prepped and ready to go to the body shop. We did NOT say they were flawless and would require no work other than spraying them with paint. Furthermore, the fenders are made with the understanding that a body shop or other qualified person will be painting and installing them. These fenders, like ALL body parts both OEM and aftermarket require adjustments when installing on a car. Every car is made just a little different and it is impossible to say they will fit EVERY car perfectly with no modifications. Any body shop can tell you, even when using new factory body parts, sometimes minor modifications, including, but not limited to, shims, trimming and sanding are required. The fenders were received by someone at the PO Box and we were contacted by a different relative, not the original purchaser or relative who's PO Box we sent them to. This individual took it upon himself to install the parts and promptly called us to inform us they do not fit as he expected. He also informed us they have minor defects, including scratches, etc that will need to be addressed before the parts can be painted. Photos of these "defects" were sent to us. Again, minor gouges, scratches, chips, etc are NORMAL for fiberglass panels and any body shop can sand them or fill them in with body filler as part of the pre-painting process. D3 has offered as a final resort to send this customer NEW fenders when we get the next production batch in stock. These parts ARE on back order and the customer was notified of this. He was also told that a body shop or qualified person will NEED to prep and install them and that he cannot do it himself.
