Confused   Originally lost Reverse,2nd & 4th(overdrive) on 2000 Z-71 Chevy 4L60E transmission with 170,000 miles. My mechanic replaced sun shell and torque converter and reassembled. everthing reads fine on the Tech 2. No codes and says shifting is fine. problem is won't actually go into 4th(overdrive). We are both scratching our heads. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Even though it is commanding lock-up,It still could be a few things, turbine shaft "o" ring cut or damaged, solenoid screen blocked, did you check the "boo" switch? or even the 2-3 shift solenoid circuit.Did you check for a short from the PCM to the TCC ,since you didn't have lock-up before rebuild? Did you have any codes before rebuild?

Update My mechanic installed all new selenoids ($200) but still  no overdrive. His next step he says is to put a gauge on and check pressure?? (I'm not a mechanic I'm just trying to translate) He suspects its losing fluid pressure possibly in valve body somehow.?? any other suggestions would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
