Bought my wife a new 2006 A4 Cab in Mar07.  It has 11k miles.  She was driving about one hour then pulled into a grocery store and walked into the store and heard a page over the loadspeaker that an Audi was on fire in the parking lot.

She ran out and pulled her laptop out of the back seat.  The car was smoking, the fire department was called and put out the fire.  The fire looked like it orginated on the front part of the engine compartment on the passenger side.  The radio and ignition and door locks worked after the fire was put out.

Do you think the mfg should pay for this?  Under 12k miles and five months old?  My wife is very upset as it is a company car and only covered for liability...and she owns the company.  Car is parked in a parking garage...no chance of animals.  thanks
