After work one day, started the car, put in gear, no forward or reverse gears.  Did heard a crunching noise.  Towed home.  The trans fluid was very brown and smelled burnt.  Removed engine to remove trans for overhaul.  I was expecting to find something obvious due to the fact that I heard a noise.  Purchased a ATSG overhaul manual.  Only found worn clutches.  All pump dimensions were checked.  Replaced all clutches, steels, seals, torque converter, and pressure control solenoid.  (all other solenoids were checked per manual and found acceptable) No metal found in pan.  Reassembled everything, started engine, but have no forward gears.  Does go in reverse.  I also installed a new safety/neutral switch.  I just don,t know what direction to go now.  Please help!!!
