I have a 2001 XL7.  A few months ago it started screeching when we turned on the AC.  Now it screeches when the defroster is turned on and smells like something is burning.  We have checked the belts and they seem fine.  Over the last few weeks, it has started heating up in the car whenever we go uphill or accelerate to 55mph (no fans are turned on when this happens).  There is also a very strong chemical odor when this occurs.  Can anyone help me?
