Just recently purchased a used 2003 Mazda Tribute for my College bound Daughter. We got the SUV at a reasonable price and she loves the vehicle. She has started experiencing problems with the car alarm, it goes off for no apparent reason. Some days it goes of multiple timeswhile other days it does not go off at all. She has experienced the problem at various locations during various times of the day. My wife brought it to the dealership from which it was bought for them to check it out. Naturally the alarm did not go off for the service department while in their care, so they told my wife that they do not know what the cause or correction is. Is there any was to disable the alarm portion only with out any other systems being affected? I am out of town for three more weeks and need some srt of resolution until I can get to the dealer myself.
