Volvo is following Saab in producing ethanol based models. Not sure how much the technology is advanced now but the early vesions smell like they're frying fish and chips as they drive past

In a heartbeat. I think Volvo has been gifted with alternative fuel cars and I hope to see some good ones out this year.
I have 2 girls that will be driving in a few years and I will look at Volvo first.

In my opinion you should not buy an ethanol volvo because ethanol-blended fuels attract and hold moisture, ethanol content can contribute to causing corrosion of tank material. Corrosion material can clog fuel filters and damage injectors

The views might be valid, however with fuel prices the way they are, why not invest in a renewable energy driven vehicle. I think it will take time to realize what is good or not, so we will have to wait and see.
