A week ago my car died and had no power...I thought it was the battery but I had replaced the battery 3 months ago..I found out that the alternator went bad..So I replaced it with a new one and did the installation myself..As soon as I started the car it mad a really high pitched noise...I found it that it was the belt hooked to the alternator..It was a little slack..So I tightened the slack but the car still makes noise on start up, stops, and turns...Can someone help me find the resolution and stop the noise in my car??? Thank You
If it is making noise on turns i would say it is the power steering belt that is loose, if they are the same belt the only way to quiet it is to put on a new belt,by now the belt is "glazed".
