I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota Pickup with a recently replaced engine. The previous engine had 280,000 miles on it and we were told they had a newer engine with only 45,000 miles on it. The shop said they could make the odometer match the new engine reading but they never did so. The engine has no problems at all but now that I am interested in selling I don't know how to prove to a buyer that it has around 50,000 and not 300,000. Is there a way to take it somewhere to have to reading changed legally or at least to prove that the engine has this mileage milage?
