Ok, so for years I've been told to use Marathon or Shell gasoline. I finally decided on a vehicle - Ford Edge AWD - and upon filling the tank for the first time noticed a sticker on the inside of gas cap reading "Ford recommends BP fuel". Huh? Can anyone provide me w/ some insight as to why this would be the case? Also, does it really matter which gas station I use? Thanks for any help!

I don't think the gas station would matter as long as you use the same kind of fuel that your car was designed for...

All gas is the same. Follow the tanker truck back to the regional depot and you'll find tanker trucks from all the brands filling up at the same place. What IS different between brands is the additive package each adds at the end of the tanker truck fill. So who's additive package is better? That's the $64,000 question. I say you should stick with the major brands and always buy from a busy station. That way their gas will be fresh.

Try to stay clear of stations that are refueling because it stirs the underground tanks, give them a day to settle.
