I have a 6-cyl. 2001 Isuzu Rodeo that has a couple issue that may be related.

1) Whenever the car is on and is in PARK the fuel gauge plummets to below 'E' causing the gas light to come on.  Only when I put the car in Drive and get it moving does it correct itself.  Also, I noticed that it did this on the highway when I got up above 70mph for a long stretch of time.

2) if the car sits for more than 4 hours the next time I turn the key to start it all I get is a 'click'.  If I turn it a second time it gets better and by the third it turns over.  However, if I pump the gas three or four times prior to turning the key there's no issue and it fires up right away.

Are these issues related and if so what do you think the problem is?

Thanks for any help on this!!

2) sounds like the starter most prob. needs a service the pumping gas theory doesnt make sense but turning it to start a couple of times may cause it to eventually start....
