I recently picked up a 1989 Volvo 740 GLE 4 cyl 16 valve with 154,000 miles. The car runs well. I had the oil and oil filter changed, and all fluid levels checked. I now need to have the transmission fluid changed. Just so that I know what to expect before I go to the service center, 1. Does this model require special Volvo transmission fluid, and 2. Is there a filter or screen on this particular model?
