I own and operate an online car quote service.  We have been tinkering with the idea of creating a market value pricing system on new automobiles based upon individual purchase experience.  Essentially what are you really paying for the cars you purchase.  We know validation is going to be a very difficult matter to harness.  If this information were available, would it be helpful information or just more fodder?

It would be really helpful to me because I am not a big computer person so anything that can make the process more efficient would be great. Lately i have been looking at auctions myself

I like this forum and want to thank all who contribute. My wife and I will never ever purchase a NEW car. WE often listen to the Dave Ramsey Money Game Show and have heard him speak of www.MidTnAutos.com for great buys on late model cars and trucks. We checked it out and purchased a 2005 Nissan Altima SL loaded with sunroof, leather and all the buttons. We paid $13,500, my credit union told us the car was worth over $16,700. Felicia Sparks the owner told us the reason the car was priced great was due to the car being a "repossed unit" meaning the previous onwer didnt make the payments and thus Nissan Motor Accepetance(finance company for Nissan) repossed the Altima. MidTnAutos.com searches for these cars then reconditons them and resells them to the public for a better price than say Carmax or the Nissan dealers. They told us their overhead is about 5% of the Big dealershipsn and they do not employ salesman thus not paying a sales commission. As for my wife and I we will never buy a new car. Use the computer and sites like Autotrader.com and do the research before any purchase.
