I'm having all the typical maf symptoms. Tried cleaning it, that worked for awhile... ended up buying one for $75 online. Ran fine drove around to reset the computer and it did pass NYS inspection. On the way home from the inspection the SES light came back on. Haven't driven it too much (only a couple of miles) to know how well(bad)its going to drive. Plan on going to Autozone to have them pull the codes again tomorrow. If the possible Maf code comes up again will having the dealer updated the ECM reset the SES light and that will be all (hopefully) that will be needed??
TIA

arrrrh my continuing saga with the MAF!! Now I have a P0160 code Would having the ECM updated maybe solve this problem or do I need to replace the o2 sensor AND have the ECM updated. Thanks for any input any of you might have for me, just trying to save some money here without doing unnecessary repairs.

Was on highway in my 2000 nissan maxima and accelearated to about 50 then pressed the gas and got nothing. Car started to slow down, so i pull over and the car cuts off and now won't start. Any suggestions because right now i have no clue what's going on?

I have a 2000 Maxima and not only is it hard to start and sluggish accelerating from a stop, it also has a bad shimmy in the front end when I apply the brakes. The rotors and brake pads have been replaced with no improvement. Has anybody else had these issues?

I just replace my MAF on my 2000 Maxima. The dealer says you need to have the codes reset. However, they said the same thing when I replaced my driver seat with a used one from the junkyard because of the airbag sensor. I disconnected the battery just before I removed and replaced the MAF and left it unplugged for a little over an hour (not how long it took to replace the part, that was about 20 minutes). Then reconnected the battery and I am once again a proud owner of a Maxima with power the full range of the tach and no stalling!
