I have the Yamaha V6 engine from a Ford Taurus SHO. It's a project in the making that's going to be twin turbocharged, and I will be mating a T-56 to it. As far as my research has taken me, this engine/transmission combo has never been done before (a T-5 has been done, but I'll be spending nearly as much to get one to hold the same amount of power as a stock T-56, and it doesn't have the double overdrive). After taking measurements I have found that the extension housing from the Camaro/Firebird will provide the best shifter location, but it has to be an LS1 T-56 ('98 or newer) due to the fact that the LT1 T-56 has a pull-style clutch, and a shorter input shaft (so simply changing to an LS1 bellhousing won't cut it).

Anyway, I'm posting the following question on here hoping that somebody is very familiar with the various T-56s that have been factory installed in different vehicles over the years. I will need a bellhousing to block adaptor, so a factory input shaft/bellhousing combination will not work, as the input shaft will not be long enough to reach the pilot bearing. Can anybody reccomend a bellhousing/input shaft combination that will give me at least 1/2" for the adaptor?
