We have tried for 3 weeks to remove the crankshaft pulley of our 1995 Subaru Legacy with lubricants, threaded pulley claw and has only budged it and it is1/4 in. from coming off. Subaru says to lubricate and it just slides off. It has not slid off. Is there a secret to removing this. We have an oil leak to fix and can't get to it until this crank seal is off. PLEASE anyone who can help We have had muscle over here to help slide it off with no avail. There seems to be a tiny notch preventing it from coming off. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You might want to Google the Ultimate Subaru Message Board site and check under New Generation (Subarus newer than 1991). These guys will walk you through just about anything Subaru. Good luck and please post your results here!

2000 Subaru Legacy Outback is vibrating, shaking at stop lights, even worse with air conditioner on. Did new transmission mount, checked engine mounts, used fuel additive, checked transmission, mechanic puzzled. Could it be the ABS brakes, since has a similiar feel going down hills on freeway. We are frantic for an answer.

Does it vibrate all the time or just when you are appling the brakes,if it is only when you apply the brakes , then it is warped rotors. If it is vibrating all the time the I would suspect a "miss" in the enging, prob a dead plug or wire, had one that was a slitly open EGR valve, just enough to suck a little vaccum, and caused it to "miss".Of coures I dont know what kind of vibration you are getting. But being stop at a light i would suspect it to be an engine miss fire. Check for a vaccum leak , bad plug or bad wires.
