Could somebody please help. I have a 1987 Lincoln Town Car that cannot shift out of first gear. Have reverse, park, neutral, everything seems to work fine except car just doesn't shift out of first gear. Any ideas???

You hane an A.O.D. type transmission in that , The most common problem is the Throttle pressure Linkage Grommet is more than likley broke Look on the linkage that is around the throttle body for one that is disconnected ! this is the one that needs repair
