My Honda has about 220,000 miles on it and has recently been having a reoccurring trans problem.
I will be driving along for about ten minutes and it will be shifting fine, in all gears, then all of a sudden without any jerks or movement in the car (usually when I come to a complete stop) when I press on the gas it will start to rev up but will not start to get going till after a second or so. It then will not shift at all and seems to be stuck in a single gear. I also noticed the slight forward movement you get when you let go of the brake is gone.
As soon as I start the car up again the same thing will happen, it will work perfectly fine for about 10 minutes or so then just get stuck in one gear again.
I took it to the local Honda dealer and they said it was stuck in third gear and replaced the control box in hopes of fixing the issue. After the replacement it worked fine for a whole day, but then the next day started having the same issue again only now it is clearly stuck in a different gear than before.

I did not personally check the Fluid level, but was assured by the Honda dealer that fluid levels were fine.
The light has been out and after they changed the control box it remained on briefly but now has gone out again. I never have seen it flashing.

You Personally ck. your fluid level. your d4 light should be on when in *** you may have a bad M.L.P.S (manual lever position lever switch) this could cause it to be stuck in a particular gear, but not the reving up as you stated

Yes I did personally check the fluid at it was ok.
What I have noticed is that most of the time the D4 light is not on at all. When I was driving this past weekend on the freeway I noticed that it would blink every once in a while. Like blink twice real fast, then not blink for about five minutes then blink like 8 times in a row, not in a regular interval, but blink more erratically at random times.
What I ment by the reving is that the car gets stuck in a certain gear (I'm guessing it is stuck in second gear now) all the time. So when I'm at a complete stop and then press on the gas the car is already in 2nd gear so the RPM will rev up to like 3 and the car will slowly begin to move and speed up slowly.

Oh man I just realized this but I forgot to mention that it is an automatic transmission if that makes any difference.

Ok here`s the deal . You have to have it scanned , you "will" have a code with the D4 flashing, It`s important to have it scanned while it`s Failing ! (Flasing) dont turn the car off , this will allow True codes to be extracted It may be as simple as a bad M.L.P.S. or just a shift solonoid .
