I am trying to decide between these two cars. Both seem to have equally good reputations / reliability records. Anybody want have an opinion why I should choose one over another?

Some Honda Accords have had trouble with the automatic transmissions... I would stick with the Toyota. I think it looks better too.

i am in the minority, but i would get the accord. the camry v6 cannot be had in a stick, and i would rather have a more sporting family sedan as a sort of mid life crisis mobile haha. if your spouse would not allow it, id say its a tossup between the two cars. pick whichever you like better after a test drive.

Because these two sedans compete for the very same appeal-to-everyone midsize market, the choice is up to you. What are you asking? Which accelerates better? Which has a nicer interior? Which has a more stylish exterior? Only the first of those questions can be answered definitively. The Camry, with its new 268 HP V6 blows away the formerly fromidable Honda 3 liter. Then again, who cares? Are you really buying a family sedan to win drag races? The choice will come down to which you feel is most comfortable and most utilitable. Here are some generalizations:
The Honda Accord V6 is boring to look at. But the interior is very nice, and certainly as modern in its funtionality as the Camry, despite the generational gap (the Camry is an All-new design). If you care about handling, the Honda is superior, but not because it's more "sporty" than the Camry. The Honda's front wishbone suspension and multilink rear suspension delivers better cornering performance, but only at the ragged edge of its perforamance. If high speed cornering isn't your game, then the Accord's advantage is moot.
So if styling and performance are irrelevant to you, then I guess the issue comes down to reliability. This the where both brands have exceptional reputations. But preliminary reports of the Camry suggest that the usual superior build quality and rattle-free operation suffer compared to past models. The honda is a tried and true model of performance and quality, and because it's of an older generation, you're guarandteed a high quality product. This comes at the expense of style and engine performance compared to the camry, but then again, it's you who has to decide which is more important.
Hope this helps.
