When heater is on we only get heat out on the driver side only. Cold air blows out on the passenger side. Also, during the summer get no A/C on the passenger side. Auto  Mechanic thinks that the air duct door is broken. Very costly to repair. They need to take out the whole dash to get at the unit that is broken. Any other solutions or ideas to fix?

My 2004 jeep grand cherokee has the same problem.  The shop wants over a grand to fix the blend doors, but if you disconnect the battery, then reconnect, you have heat, but only temporarily.  This is a factory defect and should be treated as such.  Contact Chrysler.  I did.

thanks for the review.  I am having exactly the same problem.  Had the 2004 back three times now, but I feel I am being ignored by the dealership.  They keep telling me that they can't find a problem.  Who did you deal with at Chrysler and how did they fix your problem?

Done a web search and this appears to be a very common problem.

The most common cause of these symptoms is broken blend doors. The HeaterTreater is an after market kit that solves heater and AC issues caused by broken blend doors for the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and Laredo models. It is much cheaper than the dealership fix and is easy to install. For diagnosis and info, check out www.heatertreater.net or search ebay for "heatertreater".

the problem with my jeep is that no cold air comes out.  its like the AC is always on fan.  i haven't brought it to the mechanic.  my friends say that it may be the freon, the coolant.. etc.  i dont have idea with things of that sort

I totally disagree with you, but whatever…it’s the way you think and everyone has their own way of going on in life.

Go here for a cheap do it yourself kit to fix this!

I saved $900.00 Thats what the dealership tried to charge me!! I had my brother put the kit in and he did it in about an hour. Fixed, no problems and my heater is working great again.

This is a common problem with the Jeeps of this generation and its cause the blend doors get broken.

I saw the broken ones and they are plastic! The ones I bought are ALUMINUM!! much better than the factory parts and much cheaper -
