I think I have a bad Body Control Module. My gauges (instrument cluster) act up about 40 percent of the time. Yesterday, the engine just quit after only running for about 10 seconds. Other times, it acts as if its out of gas. If its not a bad BCM, what else could it be?
I'll take any advice I can get.

I have the same problem. My gauges would go to zero, but the car always ran. 2 days ago it died. They told me the reason it wouldn'y start is because of a bad PCM. When I asked about the gauges, they said it probably is a bad BCM. They explained the PCM controls the engine, the BCM controls the gauges and wipers. My back wiper doesn't work when the guages are zero, but the front wiper does!
He can't diagnosis the BCM until he gets the car running. It looks like I have to replace both.

I've been having close to the same problem, Most of the time the van would start right up and I've noticed that it would run for about 10 minutes while driving, the engine would cut-out for about a second and a half and come back on...., that's if I had my foot on the gas. If I didn't have my foot on the gas and was coasting, the engine would shut off and I would have to shift into neutral and restart. Now it's a lot worse. This morning it won't start at all and the Alarm Set light would come on. I'm sure at this point it's the PCM located next to the Battery and Fuse Block located on the drivers side. We'll keep in touch.... Mark

most common causes of those bcm issues are; poor battery, corroded battery terminals, loose connections in the gauge cluster),corrosion on the bcm connectors or sometimes the bcm is hanging (pull iod fuse for at least 2 min to reset the bcm). you can also perform cluster self-check to determine if there are error codes stored 1.Press and hold trip/reset button, turn ign to “on” (engine not running). 2.the odometer will change to blank screen then will perform test. record the code if any and post i'll try to help
