The TH 350 had the modulator on the right rear of the trans just above the pan ,and a 13 bolt pan, that is the M-39 . the TH400 it was on the front right side of the trans just above the pan, this one is the M40 and the 700R4 did not have the modulator and it has a 16 bolt pan.
What type of vehicle , what year and motor size?

1995 chevy truck automatic tranmission with overdrive. I have had my transmission rebuilt. Seems to shift normal but sometimes it seems to hang in fourth and the truck has a hard time moving at take off. When it does this I can manualy shift it to 1st gear take off then set my shifter in D and it works fine, I can tell when this is going to happen becuse when I slow down I can feel it shift into first(sometime it feels like it shifts into first a little hard). But if I do not feel this then I know it will be hung into 4th gear, Any Ideas. The transmission guy thought it may be loosing power but I am leaning to a sticking spindle. I am going to take it back to him but for argument sake just checking for other ideas. Thanks

I have a 1994 chevy sub 4x4 4l60E with issues. I was having problems so I rebuilt. I seem to still have the same problem. The old one had worn out clutches. In od it feels like you are pulling a heavy trailor. Ounce you get on the hwy it seems to run good. If I put it in 1st is seems to slip unless i goose the throtle then it takes off. One other thing when I go to 4x4 back to 2x4 in nut.it grinds gears in the transfer case. I installed new kit, clutch, steels, pump, ret springs, new bearings, bushings,tq conv, front pump, sonic pinless survos, corvet survo, new wire harness with sol, motor and 2/3 cont sol. I swapped the two shift sol.and it didn't make a diff.

Hey Hog Rider-2001 Impala that shudders in OD with slight acceleration. My trans guy checked with scanner while driving, all checked out fine. He thought it may be throttle positioning sensor. My mechanic drove, shudder goes away when brake is tapped, torque converter. He placed a Kendell additive in trans, if anything it made it worse. Any ideas?

Hello there, I have a 1996 Honda Accord 2 door EX with an automatic transmission. As of lately i've heard a rattling noise coming from the car, so i had my father who is a mechanic look at it...he said hed never heard it before. I had another guy a know, also a mechanic, look at it and he thought that maybe the torque converter had shaken loose or a bearing was going out somewhere behind the trans-axle. He took the inspection plate off and said the torque converter was properly connected. I then had another mechanic look at it, but when he looked at it the noise had stopped, but there was still rattling. He looked in the transmission fluid with the dip stick and didnt see any metal shavings, so he did not think it was a bearing. He said the muffler was shot and rusted out, and the rattling baffels could be transferring noise up to the back of the trans-axle area. Me and my father removed the muffler and at first the noise did not happen, so we drove it about 7 miles just to make sure and when i came to a complete stop there was no noise, but when i shifted it into park the rattling would start again. It would not rattle in reverse, d4 d3 2 or 1, but it would rattle in neutral and park. Slight acceleration would stop the rattling, (800 rpms), but as soon as it went back to idleing, the rattle would start again. Can anyone give me any information on this if they have an idea, because so far all 3 mechanics i've asked are not sure what the problem is.

My transmission for my 2006 9-3 Aero had a crack in the direct drum which it loss pressure and made the clutches fail and burn, thats what I was told, does that sound right??? the car drove fine except when I tried to pass on the high way the transmission sliped and the RPM's went way up like it's in neutral gear. Also is the direct drum a related component of the clutches???? thanks.

I have a 1997 chevy express 6.5l I recently changed all the fluids inclding the transmission when I tried to get it off the ramps in reverse it went forward. After I pulled it off the ramps it goes in every gear but when its in neutral it goes forward and when its in reverse its in neutral. Any suggestions?
