Hello Hog Rider.  I'm building a 1934 street rod and I've used a 4L60 transmission.  It won't shift.  I've tried using a scanner but it won't read because I think they put the wrong prong plug on my wiring harness.  Anyway, do you have any suggestions on what I can look for to find out why it won't shift.

Hi, I am building a 1934 Street Rod and I used a 4L60 transmission that won't shift.  I tried using a scanner but it won't give me a reading.  Do you know where I would start looking to fix the problem of not shifting?

Its a 99 mazda b3000 and it started a month ago..so i changed the tranny fluid and filter and it went away..until about 3 days ago..so i brought it in and they said that it was a speed sensor..so they replaced it and it worked fine again but tonite it started to shift hard again....it only does this when i am coming to a stop between 1st and 2nd..and sometimes when i do stop and i begin to leave it seems that it is still in 2nd..so it moves slowly but with alot of revs...then it seems to sense this problem and shifts down hard to catch up..but this happens rarely..the main problem is the hard shifting when comin to a stop..any ideas..thanks

4L60 ?
which is a 700r4  cannot  be scanned to accuratly diagnose this  Shifting problem in this unit. As it is a Hydraulically controlled Transmission,  First Check to be sure the T.V. cable is Properally hooked up. and adjusted.
if so   was this unit working before you put it in ? May want to drop the pan and inspect for  Debris.

Hello HOG RIDER,
I need to change my TH125 on a BUICK SKYLARK (1981- V6 2L8). My transmission model is  CD, and I have found one CV. I think it's only a drive ratio difference. Do you know the drive ratio of the CV and CD tranny model, or do you know were I could find this information.
It's difficult for me, because I leave in France, and here nobody knows this information.
Thanks a lot for your help.

I have a '92 Honda Accord that will only stay in gear for only a mile or two, and I cannot go very fast, and then it seems like it goes into neutral. Whenever I press the gas it only revs then engine and the car goes nowhere. I can stop, put it in park, turn the car off, wait a few minutes, and then it will go for a short distance and then do the same thing. The car has 180,000 miles on it. I was just wondering if the transmission is done and needs to be replaced or if there might be something that I can repair.
Thanks.

Your filter is getting Blocked with Clutch material , and Cutting off the  Volume of fluid the  pump needs to  supply pressure ,   you can try a  fluid change  but you cannot  change the filter   without removing and opening up the transmission.... Sorry to tell  you this
Need`s to be replaced .......

Stephane  ,From france
From what I could find Their are NO  Ratio differances between the CV and CD Model units ... although the wireing connector for Lock Up may or may not be differnt (Youll have to check that) Look for 3 or 4 wire connectors ,  Both the CV  and CD models were used in  81  2.8  Skylark`s. Hope this help`s !........

Hello, HOG RIDER
Thanks a lot for your very quick reply, and for your help. You can be sure that I don't have a bad opinion of transmission guys! If you need something, or informations on French cars, don't hesitate to contact me, by sending an email on st.cellier@wanadoo.fr. It will be a pleasure to help you, if I can.
Have a great day.
