I have a 94 s10 blazer 4 wheel drive it will not shift past 1st gear and the speedometer stopped working when this problem occured the speed sensor is working and everything else on the trans is working fine do you have any ideas what it could be. Help is appreciated

Amen to that, I hate to see people get charged for a rebuild when it is a just a bad wire.

Your Sure the V.S.S. is working ? Did you have it on a scanner and see the signal ?
That it the most Probabal cause !

yes a scanner was put on it and it recieving a signal. could the governor or the computer itself be a problem

That unit does not have a Governor.
you may have a bad solonoid (Sticking)
i take it you Do have reverse....
does the Fluid smell burnt ?
If the computer were bad it would only allow 3rd. gear.
You can drop the pan and switch the 2 shift solonoids , If one is bad you will have" Changed" the gear in wich it takes off (Ie, 2 or 3)

I have a 1996 Buick Rivera,It has a 4T60E Trans.I have a code PO753.
I cant find a site where I can find a diagnostic tree for the problem.
It is a solenoid issue but I can't find what solenoid resistance is suppose to be and so forth. Any help would be appreciated.

yes the truck has reverse and the fluid does not smell burnt i will have to try the soliniods next thank you

i have a 95 chevy 1/2 ton with only 79000 miles on it tranz work good but no overdrive.pan and oil are clean and my engine light is not on.pleace help .thank you

You need to get it scanned and give me the code`s . ,
With your Ck. eng. Light on you may have a code that will Inhibit Overdrive.....

i when to autozone they told me it cant be scan only 96 and newer.they also told me it must have a engine light on .my truck dont

Not true wildwest. I have a 93 Chevy and I had the codes scanned without a check engine light on and it threw a VSS code and a transmission temperature code.

I had this done at Advance Auto

Don't believe everything these high school hobbiests tell you!
