I have a '97 Ford Taurus GL. It is only getting 15 miles per gallon. I know someone who has a 2000 Taurus and gets about 30 miles per gallon. I read something somewhere about this specific car having problems with gas mileage getting worse over the years. I have new air filter, spark plugs, and just had an oil change. My tires are fine and aired up. What else could I do?

have you checked if your exhaust is working properly.
