Have a '05 Cadillac STS with 25K mi

 5L40-E tranny started harsh shifting at 21K mi - has become worse and now
 in all shifts except 1-2 .

 Dealer has made software change - symptoms continue

 Any ideas ?

Are there any codes at all even engine related?  

Dealer - service reported to me that there were no codes re transmission

did not check engine -
