Hi all,
I am planning on buying a new car this fall and need some advice on what to get.
What do you think of import vs domestic?
What should I be looking for when buying a car?
Thanks! I am a little clueless so any advice is much appreciated!

Not as clueless as we are. From what you have provided, nobody could tell if you need a Hummer or a Neon or a Corvette. But as far as whether to buy a domestic or an import, I definitely think you should buy one of those. Make sure the car has 4 tires.

Import ( Great life, fuel economy and high tech interior ) If your prices margin is: 10-22K VW rabbit, VW Jetta, Scion , Altima. 22K - 30K Acura TSX, WV passat, Audi A4, Lexus IS 250 , Honda Accord. 30K - 40K Acura TL, Infinit G35, Audi A4 quattro Fully loaded, Nissan Maxima, BMW 328i, Lexus Rx300.
Ok list can go on.
Specify few things here , What are your expectation from buying a new car... Great Fuel economy, leg space, navigation?? name any possible details that you can.. next, what is your price range? , Are you intrested in Leasing or Buying..

Hi,
To your questions, I think the most important things to look for in buying a car is the dealer/salesman. The first thing you need to realize when going to a dealership to buy a car is this: The salesman's agenda is to make the best commission possible. Your agenda is to get the best deal possible. You must understand this mindset.

Hello,
To start out and to be honest with you, alot of what you need is to actually find out what vehicle suites your daily needs, fuel ecomony, space, warranty, and to be warry of gimmicks. I am a GM Sales Associate and in all honesty though I do sell American made vehicles that does not make me partial to such, all I have driven is imports until I started selling the actual american made vehicle. I now drive american, reason being is they have been improving the quality of there vehicles and have come along way, not only in vehicle longevity but also price ( which at this time we are beating the majority of competitors) not only that but vehicle warranty with GM is a great warranty. If you have any questions please feel free to call (704) 664-3303 and ask for Jeremy, I will be more than willing to assist you and your needs.
Thanks,
Jeremy Swedlund

I completely disagree with you! I have bought like 10 american cars and im very very very disappointed!!!!
1-Dodge Dart 2-Chevrolet Malibu 3-5 Chevrolet Astro vans (I was a van guy until gas prices went up) 4-Chevrolet Celebrity 5-Chevrolet Stationwagon Celebrity
Tell me what improvemetns have been made. adn if they acually beat toyota and hyundai!!!
I mean the only reason i boguht these cars is because of the price fo the cars. I was poor at the beginingg and 6 grand was the most i could pay at one time. And a 5 year older car did not sound good. A new car toyota camry vs chevrolet malibu, ill go to the camry anytime!

I agree, a good car buying system is critical to getting a good price. Do not expect to walk into a car dealer and getting a competitive price without have the proper information.

I don't know what your price range is, but I recently bought a new Toyota Corolla had only 5000 miles on it and got in an accident. I got rear ended and another car t-boned me. My brother and I survived with only a little bump on my head from the steering wheel. So for a pretty cheap car it had great car crash rating, I loved my corolla very comfy and nice interior and exterior, and it saved my life. So I would recommend getting something like the Toyota Corolla.
P.S. my family owned a 1997 Corolla, it had 200,000 miles on it and the only problem it ever had was a flat tire, which isn't even the cars fault!
Well good luck on buying a new car and I hope you love it, hopefully this advice will help you somewhat.

Buy whatever you like, it's all the same to me, I fix them all.
To be honest, new cars copy each others features to the point where I sometimes can't even see the difference, from one manufacturer to the next.
With the economy the way it is, just get what you can afford.
