I have a 2001 Ranger that has 63,000 miles on it. The problem has just started that sometimes when the truck is placed into drive the transmission does not fully engage. The truck will try to move forward or reverse but it acts like the emergency brake is engaged. The times this has happened I have been able to rev up the rpm enough that the transmission will "pop" into place and then opperates normally. It has been in the low teens temperature wise and have been setting outside overnite when this occured. Not sure if that has anything to do with. Any ides on what may be going on or how to research further.
