I have a 1998 Chevrolet Venture LS and I have a traction control button called TCS. When all the exterior light are on at night, this button glows but it does nothing when I press it. I read the owners manual and it says that an indicator light is supposed to go on when I press the TCS button to turn off the traction control system. Why doesn't anything happen when I press the TCS button?

They might be refering to light on the dash. But You should Know if it's working or not during extreme take off. (Hard exeleration) Keeps one wheel from exelerating faster then the other to prevent vehicle from Vering to the right. It applies a little brack pressure until both wheel's are turning evenly. It's also tied in with abs and uses the speed sensor.

Yes, I'm refering to the TCS Warning light turning on in the instrument panel, when I disable the Traction control system by pressing the TCS button. When I press the TCS button, the TCS indicator lamp on the instrument panel doesn't turn on to tell me that the traction control system is off. No matter how many times I press the TCS button, the traction control system is always on because on slippery snowy roads, the " Low Traction " indicator lamp turns on and tells me that the Traction Control System is limiting wheel spin. When I turn the ignition to the on position just before starting my vehicle, the TCS light comes on breifly. Therefore, the TCS indicator lamp in the instrument panel is working correctly. The only problem is, why can't I disengage the Traction control system by pressing the TCS button?
