I'm having difficulty replacing the "Parking Sprag Shaft" when
installing the automatic transmission valve body. This is the shaft
that connects to the transmission parking sprag. Has anyone done
this? Is there a special "trick" to getting it installed correctly?

Sometimes you can rotate the internal gear or output shaft to get the parking pawl in a possition were it will drop in a tooth.
