Will a heavy passenger (about 400 lbs) damage the seat to my Honda Ridgeline? Years ago, a heavy friend of mine permanently flattened the springs in the passenger seat of my 78 Datsun pickup after one short ride. The seat was ruined.
Now my husband wants to occasionally take his coworker out to lunch in my new Ridgeline. She weighs right about 400 pounds. My husband was very offended that I asked him not to take her. He said she can't help her size. My opinion though is I paid good money for this truck and I have to sit in this seat sometimes.
Does anyone have experience with this vehicle, or any other newer vehicle, having any noticeable damage from someone with extra weight sitting in it? If it can hold that weight, I am okay. One solution is to have her drive and she usually does. This is a sensitive topic for all of us.
Thanks.

Yes they can and also they also effect alignment of the vehicle. Some times you have to request the customer to sit in vehicle while conducting alignment. I've also seen vehicles in which they have to put extra leaf or stronger spring's to compensate weight factor. The only problem is how do u put it politly I'm not sure.
