Hello, my name is Chris and I'm 24.  Please be patient as I tell you my story, I purchased a band new 2005 Acura RSX last years around February, I was saving up for that car ever since I was 20, I drove it for about 3 months and I had several problems with it. I had both my suspensions replaced and I needed my wheels aligned & steering wheel only after a few months of driving. I have babied this car from day 1 and I never thought this would have happened to me, One day i got in my car and I heard a tapping noise coming from my engine, it didn't sound like anything too major so I kept driving. The next day, It was louder and I started to get worried, So I asked some of my friends some questions and what not to see if this was normal. I heard from the grape vine that it was possible for my engine to knock from low oil, so needless to say I checked my oil level but without realizing I was on a sloped driveway. It wasn't reading properly but at the time I didn't realize it, So I went to put 2 more quarts of oil into my engine. Ofcourse, it didn't do anything and I went to the Acura Dealer the day after, and they told me my engine rods are bent and pistons were damaged and it was all my fault that the oil had destroyed my engine and the warranty wasn't going to cover it. So, I got a lawyer immediatly after they told me it wasn't covered and tried to get a Lemon Law to work in my favor. Well, it's been a year and I'm still in the same boat they still haven't done anything and I'm losing money and my life is at a stand still. I've spoke to several mechanics and they all tell me that there's no way that the oil could have damaged the engine in short a short spand of time with the extra added oil. It was stupid what i did and i regret it and I HATE ACURA for treating me like a 18year kid who doesnt know anything, if you guys have any input on this anything will help at this point.

Thats quite a heart breaking story especially when you consider that you were saving for a long time to get this car. I hope the lawyers can get some money back for you but knowing these big firms, they play their cards right and will only fight the case if they know they'll win.
Feel you ya mate

I also have recently had a similar experience. I experienced the same knocking sound and then my engine just siezed up on me. Same diagnosis - engine rods damaged and I will need a whole new engine. With labor that's around 10k. The Acura service guys I'm dealing with are saying that it is due to me red-lining the engine, but that is not the case. It's very frustrating when I know that the damage wasn't caused by what they are suggesting. Even more frustrating is that it cost me $600 for them to examine the engine.

I wonder how many others have had a similar experience.
