I have a '99 jeep that has a terribly annoying rattle in the right rear every time I hit the slighest bump. I have replaced the muffler hanger, shocks, and sway bar bushings. It's not the spare tire or anything like that. Nothing has helped. Now I'm starting to think it's in the body mounts because when I get a couple of passengers in the back, the noise stops. Any past experiences on this anyone?
My Suburban had the same problem and I had to change the body mounts. So, check ANYthing that could be lose or moves. Flex the suspension if you can on a hill or rock or something, un load the pass rear, then look and see if the body mount is lose or if the bushing for it is worn.
