I'm about to purchase a 2006 Toyota Highlander, 6 cyc, with third row seat and have been quoted at 27,145.54 out the door. Also has Alloy Wheels and Power Passenger seat. Is this price in the ball park?

If it's the Base Highlander (4dr SUV w/3rd Row (3.3L 6cyl 5A) ), then the price you listed is higher than MSRP ($26,440: Edmunds.com), which is a bad deal. If it's the Limited version, the the price you listed is about Invoice ($27,108: Edmunds.com), which is a good deal. If it's the Limited version with all wheel drive, then get your fanny over there before some else buys it (Invoiced @ $28,354: Edmunds.com).
If your pushed into buying gap coverage and/or extended warranty by the dealer's finance officer, just say, "No, thank you," over and over and over again. Almost all auto insurance companies offer addendums for gap coverage at a far cheaper rate. Third party extended warranties are much cheaper and offer better customer service. Check out the link below for more information. The dealership finance office really wants to sell these options because it's a big money maker! See: http://www.extended-warranty.info/autowarranty/
