Im pretty new to working on cars, but I give it my best shot.
I just bought a 1987 Dodge Diplomat and the other day it stalled on me. After about 5 minutes of trying to start it, it finally started, only to die on me again after driving about 15 feet. I have replaced the fuel filter, the air filter, the coil, the battery. I have had my alternator checked and its good.
I went to Autozone to check on an electronic ignition control module, and the part I was shown resembles nothing I can find under the hood. I also looked in the Haynes auto manual, and it showed me the same part the guy behind the counter did. The manual pointed the location to be on the drivers side firewall, but there isn't anything there on mine.
Does anyone know if the location of these things may be different between years? Also, being that I'm new to working on cars, If anyone has any clue as to why my car would be dieing like this, I'm all ears.
Thanks
