With all these threads asking about the best bang for your buck, I'm curious to see what cars everyone hates or considers to be a poor purchase descision.

I'm gonna go ahead and kick off the list with anything that bears a Lamborghini logo. They might be fast, but they're also extremely expensive and uninspired. Can anyone honestly say that there's a distinctinve difference between there 4 most recent models?

Cars I hate?

The Hummer H2.  Unnecessarily big.

The Mini Cooper.
  Unnecessarily small.

Go too small or too big and you get my vote.

I hate the Mazda Miata.

I can't count the number of times i've thought i had found a prime parking spot only to have to jam on my brakes to avoid smashing into a Miata neatly tucked away between two normal sized cars.  That thing is the size of a toy.

The Mini Cooper could fit in the Miata's backseat.

Lambroghini - while they definitely had a dry spot in the 90s have made some amazing vehicles both in the past and currently. The cars are all bang... and if you are buying a lamborghini (or any of the competition to a lambo you are not worried about a buck)

Distinctive difference? compared to what... These cars are not your general comparison cars. These cars come down to passion and driving experience. The Gallardo and Murcielago are not about options or dollar values, these are cars to fall in love with. Dream about as a young kid and a grown adult.

Lamborghini, Ferarri, Porsche, Aston Martin.. these cars are as much about the racing heritage and past as they are the amazing technology that drives these cars faster than any other cars ever made. There is a reason they are called super cars.

Same can be said about the Ford GT - while I think the car is ugly and unfortunate it even exists it reaches some people at there heart w/ the racing heritage and stats not me but at those prices who am I to argue.

But to finally answer your question..

Overrated Coupe = Mercedes CLK or Chrysler Crossfire
Hated Coupe = Chevy Monte Carlo

I can't think of any cars I hate.  But I do hate a lot of ppl who are in the cars.  Like huge giant SUVs driven by tards who can't even see over the dash, or who can't park their land barges, and chat on the cell phone while meandering from lane to lane nearly crushing all in their path.

Drive a Saturn Ion and I guarantee you'll hate it.

I kind of hate Nissan and Mercedes for starting the retarded horsepower war that still wages on.  Remember how the 190-horsepower Maxima was lightning back in 1995?  Now we have 280-horsepower Avalons.  AVALONS.

I don't remember the Maxima ever being considered "lightining", and I love the horsepower wars!  What's wrong with getting more bang for your buck?  As technology improves, I expect to get more and more horsepower from engines. Whether you're in a 190hp car or a 280hp car, idiot drivers will still be idiot drivers, every car on the road can go fast enough to cause deaths when driven by an idiot.

Bang for the buck is fine, but it can get annoying to have nothing but Saturn rockets to choose from when a little gas mileage would be nice.  I'd rather have a G30 over a G35 (if such a car existed).  Also because of less weight in front and better distribution.  Also cuz V6s sound sweeter at 3 liters than 3.5.

Let's hear it for smaller engines!  It's the Japanese/European way.

Anyone think what happened to computers might happen to cars?  Eventually and finally, CPUs started hitting their head on the glass ceiling known as the point when the PROCESSOR STARTS TO MELT, and we've been stuck at like 3 GHz ever since.  More importantly, everything's fast enough for no one to care much anymore.

Right now, the best witnessed 0-60 time is 3.1 seconds.  We can probably get into the 2s, but how about the 1s?  Eventually, won't we have to deal with that pesky physics law about an object only being allowed to be at one place at one time?

And when a company like Nissan makes its Altima almost as fast as its 350Z (same engine), doesn't it make the latter just a little less special?

growing up every time i saw a crx i got this warm fuzzy feeling... of disgust in the pit of my stomach. it looked like someone took a full size car and chopped it in half. if you thought the bangle butt on the bmw 7's were bad, the crx takes the cake. i don't know why everyone thought they were so cool. thankful most of them have either melted in the rain or are sitting on blocks under a tarp in someones backyard. rest in pieces lil buddy.

The CRX was a great car for young people without a lot of junk to haul around.  Take a normal car like the Civic, hack off the extra space, and drop the price.  Simple trade: space for speed.  Would make a much more attractive alternative than all the Korean bottom-feeders sloshing around the $10,000 price point these days.  Makes financial sense for Honda, too.

Hrmmm, don't know about best witnessed time being 3.1 seconds. There are a handful of cars that have boasted 3.0 and 2.9 second 0-60 runs. 97 Viper GTS-R, 95 LM Mlcaren F1, 92 RS200 to name a few.

My overrated list includes: most ferraris, which are fast but not amazing, as well as the lancer evo and impreza sti which are just overrated. And the ford GT is a sweet car that will beat all your ferraris and lambos
