Looking for help when dealer won't perform warranty work. Have a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 with 32,000 miles. Took it to the dealer because it didn't start smoothly. They kept it a week, replaced a fuel injector, sent me on my way. The next day it was worse than when I took it the first time. Won't start, then sputters, smokes, etc. Took it back. They said it needs all new injectors, fuel pump for $5K not covered under warranty. Took it to another dealer. They said $10K, still not under warranty. How could this not be covered under warranty? Doesn't 3 years/3K mean 3 years/36K? Help!

On my 2005 dodge Ram, I paid for replacing all fuel injectors - no warranty. Was told water in diesel. I've heard of other instances where no warranty for this problem. Cost me $4,000. Traded for an '06 Dodge Ram 3500 - just received notification from Chrysler that '06's have problem w/water in diesel and to take in for modification. hmmmmm???

I HAVE 04 DODGE 3500 WITH INJECTOR PROBLEMS. I HAVE 90K MILES. I TOOK IT TO ONE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. PAID $475 FOR COMPLETE TRANSMISSION, FUEL AIR & COOLANT SERVICE. DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED NOT UNDER WARRANTY. IHAVE TURNED IT OVER TO MY INSURANCE AND THEY APPEAR TO BE PAYING FOR IT AT THIS POINT. THE WILL GO AFTER DODGE IF THEY FEEL IS SHOULD BE WARRANTY. DODGE SAYD THE FUEL IS CONTAMINATED, BUT THE FILTER DOES NOT SHOW AND THERE IS NOTHING IN THE COCKPIT AT THE FILTER. IF IT HAS A WATER IN FUEL LIGHT , IT NEVER CAME ON. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THE DIDTRICT MANAGER MADE THE DECISION THEN THE DECISION IS FINAL. I WAS TOLD BE THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THERE WAS CERTAIN 04'S THAT HAD INJECTOR PROBLEMS AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE A LOT OF THEM ALREADY. I AM GOING TO PERSUE THIS PROBLEM WITH CUMMINS. MY HUSBAND HAS 20-25 YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH DIESELS AND SAYS THAT THESE PROBLEMS ARE UNFOUNDED. IF THE CONTAMINATIONS ARE GETTING PAST THEIR FILTER SYSTEMS WITH THEN THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR FILTER SYSTEMS. WE HAD A FORD DEISEL WITH OVER 400K MILES WITH THE ORIGINAL INJECTORS. I THINK DODGE HAS SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SYSTEMS.

The problem with these trucks is not the injectors themself it a design issue. The diesel fuel filter is a 7 micron fuel filter and the injectors will not pass anything larger than a 5 micron particle. there for there is 2 microns there that can stick the injector. there is a company that is making a 2 micron fuel filter that will stop the injector issue the Company is Glacier diesel power Or www.glacierdieselpower.com. the filter kit is 189.00 and will fix these injector issues. I own a repair facility and Dodge ingeneral are refusing to repair these vehicls, saying that the contamination in the fuel was from gas stations and they are not responcible for the problem. it is a costly repair but if you want to end these problems the glacier GTK2+ filter kit will stop the injector problem.
